Paul D. Nixon, MA
Founder/CEO
For Founder and CEO Paul D. Nixon, it all began with a pen. A youthful love for storytelling led Paul to earn a degree in English at Oakwood College (now University), where he also studied education. As a student at Oakwood, Paul also began writing poetry and short stories – all with the same pen. He began a career in education as a high school English teacher while he continued to use his pen in creative spaces. It didn’t take long for Paul to realize that this dual expertise – writing and education – could open other doors for him. He decided to remain open to the new opportunities that God would make available through his skills.
Being open to new opportunities led Paul to working as a teacher and an administrator at six schools in three countries on two continents.
Outside of education, this openness also led Paul to producing for the stage, writing, producing, and directing for the screen, editing, and publishing. Paul’s many unique professional experiences have helped him to become a more creative problem solver; as a result, Paul is always looking for the most effective solution to an issue, even if the solution is not traditional. Paul founded Virtual VP with creative problem solving in mind: it is a company designed to create and deliver unique solutions to school issues at an affordable rate.
Since its inception in 2018, Virtual VP team members have been engaged in a wide variety of education support services including: temporarily filling open jobs; delivering professional development to teachers; coaching teachers and administrators; supporting K-12 registrars and records officers; delivering presentations at education conferences and workshops; and more!
Paul is married to a Georgia Peach, the former Taina Casimir. Together they have a toddler named Theodore.
