What is LiftOff: Next Level College Prep?

LiftOff is a fun, engaging bridge program that reinforces the soft skills students need to succeed in college and beyond. Students who register will be given advanced critical thinking training and practice in some of the most important skills they will need on the college level.

Training sessions include:

Program Selection - How to Choose the Right Major

Mastering Tests - Test Anxiety and Test Prep

Beat the Clock - Time Management and College Scheduling

Quality Sources - Information Literacy and Basic Online Research

Your Brain/Your Mind - Learning Preferences and Managing Learning Challenges

College Hacks - Insider Tips on Navigating Higher Education; Team Building

And More!

Students who register will receive a swag bag filled with useful resources and goodies. Lunch and snacks will be provided, and each day 1 lucky student will be chosen at random to win a daily prize!

Q: How much does LiftOff: Next Level College Prep cost?

A: The cost is $297 per student.

Q: What does the price include?

A: 1. Soft skills training sessions with industry leading professionals; 2. A swag bag filled with useful tools to help you begin your college experience; 3. Snacks and prizes each day; 4. Useful, unique skills acquisition and practice; 5. Memories!!

Q: When will it take place?

A: We are currently booking customized sessions with schools. Check with your local school to see what dates are available!

Q: Where will it take place?

A: LiftOff is an in person session at a local school. Contact us to see if a school in your area is hosting a session!

Q: Who is eligible to participate?

A: LiftOff: Next Level College Prep is designed for students who are preparing for college classes, whether they be high school graduates, students who have completed their GED, or high school students who are preparing to take dual enrollment classes.

It’s also great for students who are already in college who need to reset after a difficult semester or year.

Q: Is LiftOff: Next Level College Prep the same as college orientation?

A: Not at all. College orientation programs help students navigate a specific school. For example, if you attend Virtual VP University (VVPU), the orientation program will help you learn where the VVPU cafeteria is, where the VVPU student center is, what services you can find in the VVPU tutoring center, etc.

But LiftOff: Next Level College Prep helps students with the soft skills they need to succeed in their actual classes, regardless of the subject matter. We won’t cover Calculus or Biology, but we will cover more unique topics such as: How to Pass a Boring Class and How to Work in a Group With Students You Don’t Know.

Note - There is no VVPU; we made it up to give you an example.

Q: In what format will the sessions be presented?

A: A variety of sessions in a variety of formats that suit the content of the sessions. There will be small group sessions with 1 or 2 facilitators. The sessions will be fun and engaging. Sessions will be mostly indoors, but some outdoor sessions may take place, if the weather allows.
